Ray wouldn't it be easy enough to borrow an epub from the library and then convert it to a mobi format? I know that's a lot more steps but if the Kindle is the hardware for you, could this be done?
Very nice comparison here between the Kobo Glo and the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite!
Unsure how the kindle paperwhite is meant to support audiobooks?
"Document support" section looks like turned on its head. As far as I know AZW is Amazon's format so Kindle should support it, not Kobo. Also I recall Kindle doesn't support EPUB.
The real deal-breaker (for me, anyway) is ePub compatibility. Before buying an eBook, find out what format your library (or other free sources, or unlocked books) come in. What about Mobi or PDF? Or even plain text files?
